Throughout his life, Waddah worked closely with newspapers, magazines and publishing houses which led to him meeting the most interesting characters in the literary spheres of the Arab world. Waddah befriended people like Ghassan Kanafani, Mahmoud Darwish, Laila Baalbaki, Talal Haidar, or his dearest friend Hanan al-Shaykh.
